Douglas O. Reudink, PhD

Dr. Douglas O. Reudink received his Ph.D. in mathematics from Oregon State University. He joined AT&T Bell Laboratories in 1965 as a Member of the Technical Staff, working in the field of mobile communications. In 1972, he was promoted to Head of the Satellite Systems Research Department. In 1979, Dr. Reudink was appointed Director of the Radio Research Laboratory of Bell labs. His responsibilities included overseeing a wide range of communications and radio physics projects, including satellite, mobile radio and voice-data networks, and Nobel Prize winning radio astronomy.

In 1986, Dr. Reudink joined Boeing as Director of Laboratories of the Boeing High Technology Center. He managed Boeing Electronics R&D programs for both commercial and military applications. He was functionally responsible for over 500 electrical/electronic personnel, managed $20+ million in R&D contracts and a roughly equal amount of Boeing sponsored internal R&D

In 1995 Dr. Reudink founded Metawave Communications Corporation. Metawave is dedicated to commercializing smart antenna technology for cellular and PCS. He chose early retirement 2002 a year after Metawave went public.

Dr. Reudink has his own company, Lightspeed Enterprises, Inc. which focuses on new technology and start-up ventures. Dr. Reudink has published more than 50 technical papers, received over 50 patents.
